BU52078GWZ具備S極檢測用和N極檢測用2種輸出，因此可進行極性判別。若使用雙極檢測（極性判別輸出）霍爾IC，則可進行平板電腦、智慧手機等的蓋開閉檢測、以及數位攝影機等的液晶螢幕的正反檢測和旋轉方向檢測。
