本IC作為AC/DC電源用PWM控制器，為所有插口型產品提供優良的系統。透過外接開關MOSFET及電流檢測電阻，可實現高自由度的電源設計。內建有AC低電壓保護功能和X電容器放電功能，在輕載時可降低頻率、啟動脈衝串，實現高效率。此外，還內建有節電功能，可降低無負載時的耗電。本IC配備後述的各種保護功能。
