ML2256X-xxx是內建用於語音資料的MASK ROM的4通道混合語音合成LSI。
這些LSI整合了高品質HQ-ADPCM解碼器、16位元D/A轉換器、低通濾波器和1.0W單聲道揚聲器放大器，用於驅動揚聲器。由於語音輸出所需的所有功能都整合在單一晶片中，因此只需使用其中一個LSI，系統即可升級為音訊功能。
