ML2257X-xxx是內建用於語音資料的MASK ROM的4通道混音語音合成 Speech Synthesis LSIs。這些 Speech Synthesis LSIs 內建了可實現高品質聲音的HQ-ADPCM解碼器、16位元D/A轉換器、低通濾波器以及驅動喇叭的1.0W單聲道喇叭放大器。由於語音輸出所需的功能都整合在一個晶片中，因此只需使用其中一個 Speech Synthesis LSIs，系統就可以升級音訊功能。
