背景
近年來，隨著ADAS（先進駕駛輔助系統）發展和In-Vehicle Infotainment system功能的增加，車用顯示器需要具備更高的清晰度以便提高易辨性。針對該需求，具有Local Dimming功能的LED驅動器由於可以只關閉液晶顯示器暗部的背光，有助提高液晶顯示的清晰度並降低功耗，因此開發新世代駕駛艙的製造商正在考慮採用此種LED驅動器。而傳統的直接式LED驅動器，一顆IC可控制的區域數不足100個，在隨著顯示器尺寸擴大而區域數也日益增加的車用顯示器領域中，面臨著LED驅動器和週邊元件面積增加的挑戰。
概要
「BD94130xxx-M」是由8系統開關控制器和24通道電流驅動器組成的矩陣式LED驅動器，僅由一顆IC即可將背光用的Mini LED分割為多達192個區域進行控制（調光）。另外每個區域的Mini LED還可透過Local Dimming功能獨立控制，有助提高顯示器的清晰度並降低功耗。目前在車用顯示器領域中，區域數量與日俱增，已成為市場發展趨勢，「BD94130xxx-M」與直接式的市場競品相比，一顆IC能夠控制的區域數量更多，因此可大幅削減安裝面積和所需控制器數量。例如目前主流車用顯示器的In-Vehicle Infotainment system，採用的是10英吋等級產品，需要控制大約600個區域，本產品與直接式的市場競品（支援48個區域）相比，僅需1/4的LED驅動器數量即可進行控制，LED驅動器所需安裝面積可以縮減多達84%。此外隨著新世代駕駛艙使用顯示器尺寸的增大，區域數也日益增加，因此採用ROHM本產品所帶來的優勢將越發顯著。
