背景
近年來,隨著ADAS(先進駕駛輔助系統)發展和In-Vehicle Infotainment system功能的增加,車用顯示器需要具備更高的清晰度以便提高易辨性。針對該需求,具有Local Dimming功能的LED驅動器由於可以只關閉液晶顯示器暗部的背光,有助提高液晶顯示的清晰度並降低功耗,因此開發新世代駕駛艙的製造商正在考慮採用此種LED驅動器。而傳統的直接式LED驅動器,一顆IC可控制的區域數不足100個,在隨著顯示器尺寸擴大而區域數也日益增加的車用顯示器領域中,面臨著LED驅動器和週邊元件面積增加的挑戰。
概要
「BD94130xxx-M」是由8系統開關控制器和24通道電流驅動器組成的矩陣式LED驅動器,僅由一顆IC即可將背光用的Mini LED分割為多達192個區域進行控制(調光)。另外每個區域的Mini LED還可透過Local Dimming功能獨立控制,有助提高顯示器的清晰度並降低功耗。目前在車用顯示器領域中,區域數量與日俱增,已成為市場發展趨勢,「BD94130xxx-M」與直接式的市場競品相比,一顆IC能夠控制的區域數量更多,因此可大幅削減安裝面積和所需控制器數量。例如目前主流車用顯示器的In-Vehicle Infotainment system,採用的是10英吋等級產品,需要控制大約600個區域,本產品與直接式的市場競品(支援48個區域)相比,僅需1/4的LED驅動器數量即可進行控制,LED驅動器所需安裝面積可以縮減多達84%。此外隨著新世代駕駛艙使用顯示器尺寸的增大,區域數也日益增加,因此採用ROHM本產品所帶來的優勢將越發顯著。
