BD9479FV為白光LED用高效率驅動器、並設計為大螢幕的液晶驅動器專用。BD9479FV內建可供應給光源（LED直列連接陣列）適當電壓的DCDC轉換器。
BD9479FV並內建數個在異常狀態下的保護功能。例如過電壓保護（OVP: over voltageprotection ）、過電流檢測（OCP: over current limitprotection of DCDC）、短路保護（SCP: short circuitprotection）、開路保護（open detection of LEDstring）等。因此、可在廣泛的輸出電壓條件及負載條件下使用。
